Where appropriate, we can move smaller branches to nearby locations to support and create habitats for wildlife such as hedgehogs, amphibians, and reptiles. Larger branches can be chipped or mulched.

Our team can also simultaneously conduct visual fence inspections to identify the damage, further reducing your operational costs.

The tree and branch clearance work may involve mechanically cutting back vegetation, shrubs, trees, and branches to ensure they do not come into contact with power lines and other track infrastructure, notably where tree limbs may cause a fire hazard. We also ensure that branches do not cover vital signs or crossing signals along the length of the track.

While we endeavor to carry out all work while trains and freight continue to run, in some instances, such as when the work is in close proximity to power lines, rail services may need to be suspended, or work can be scheduled to avoid disruption.

Wherever clearance involves trees owned by line-side neighbors that overhang the rail network’s fences or boundaries, we seek permission first to maintain good relations.
